About Concrete Contractors Macon
Concrete Contractors Macon is a residential flatwork company for Macon-Bibb County and the Middle Georgia towns around it. Our work is driveways, patios, stamped concrete, sidewalks and walkways, slabs, and repair of concrete that has cracked, sunk or worn thin.
Why Macon concrete fails
Two local conditions explain most of the damage. The first is weather: about 83 days a year reach 90 degrees or more, and roughly 46 inches of rain falls in a typical year, so new slabs dry out fast in summer and old slabs spend a lot of time wet. The second is age. Just over half of Macon's homes were built before 1980, which means plenty of driveways and walks here sit on thin or washed-out bases, or have been pushed up by roots from trees planted decades ago.
From first call to finished slab
1. Look first. Nothing gets priced over the phone. We come out, measure, and study slope, runoff, trees, buried lines and where a mixer truck can park. 2. Price on paper. Demolition, grading, stone base, thickness, steel, finish and sealing each get their own line, then the total. 3. Paperwork. Before a date is set, we ask Macon-Bibb County or your town whether the job needs a permit. 4. Pour day. The base is compacted, forms are pitched so water leaves the house, and summer pours start early in the morning. 5. Aftercare. You get the dates for walking, parking and sealing, written down, before we pack up.
What we will tell you straight
If a crack fill or leveling job will hold, we say so and price that. If the ground under the slab has failed, we explain why a patch will not last.
